Round 2 recap

After the second round of play at the 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship, Ryan Palmer finds himself atop the leaderboard once again. However, he is now joined by Jason Day, who carded a 3-under round to move into a tie for first place. Palmer, who ended even for the round, and Day are followed closely by Matt Kuchar and Billy Horschel, who both turned in 5-under-par rounds and share a lead for third place at -7.

With Ryder Cup stakes inevitably visible this weekend at TPC Boston, American players who are outside of the top nine in Ryder Cup Rankings, such as Keegan Bradley (-6), Webb Simpson (-6), Ryan Moore (+1) and Phil Mickelson (+1)–among others–will look to charge up the leaderboard in Rounds 3 and 4 in final efforts to impress Team USA Captain Tom Watson, who will make his three captain’s picks following the Deutsche Bank Championship. Fan-favorite Rory McIlroy posted a 2-under-par round to stand in a tie for 17th at -3, while Bill Haas (-6), Patrick Reed (-6), Jordan Spieth (-5), Martin Kaymer (-5) and Jim Furyk (-4) round out a highly popular and exciting leaderboard.
