DBC Rewind: Kirk captains his way to victory with 36 bogey-free holes

The 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship was one for the ages. After a rough first round of play, Chris Kirk seemed to find his groove and played phenomenal the rest of the weekend. Shooting 66, 64 and 66 in his last three rounds, Kirk ended bogey free for his final 36 holes of golf. The victory marked Kirk’s third PGA TOUR title.

Kirk attributed his success during his final round to his strong short game. When asked about his biggest putts, he said, “I think looking back on it my par save on 15 will probably be the biggest one. My birdie putt on 13 definitely kind of got me going, got me a little bit feeling like I could do it.”

Kirk was visibly excited about his strong performance, uncharacteristically fist-pumping after sinking a putt.

“After a rough day the first day, obviously, this is the biggest win of my career,” Kirk said. “I’m very pumped about it, and so excited about how I played.”
