DBC Rewind: Field no match for Hoffman’s 11 birdies in final round

After another long New England summer, the 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship, along with the top 100 PGA TOUR players, rolled into Norton, Massachusetts, over Labor Day weekend. This would be the fourth season that the championship was included in the FedExCup Playoffs action, and it lived up to the expected hype.

Charley Hoffman put on an incredible performance to win the Deutsche Bank Championship and secure his first PGA TOUR victory since 2007. He posted 11 birdies en route to a final-round 62. Hoffman ranked this victory at the DBC as one of his best ever.

“It’s a no-brainer,” Hoffman said. “Best. Ever. To go out and shoot 62 on a pretty tough fold on Monday, it’s fun.”

Not only did Hoffman have the best score for the weekend, but he also sported the best hair.

Reporters were eager to know if 2010 would be the year that long, luscious locks returned to the PGA TOUR. When questioned if long hair would be making a return to the TOUR, Hoffman laughed and responded with, “Well, the way Rickie Fowler and I have been playing, maybe. I guess I do it to stand out a little bit in the crowd.”

Who knows which hair style we will see this year, but the drama is guaranteed. See you at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
