Junior Golf Team
TIGER WOODS FOUNDATION NATIONAL JUNIOR GOLF TEAM
2010 REQUIREMENTS & HOW TO APPLY
The Tiger Woods Foundation National Junior Golf Team (TWFNJGT) was originally created, in recognition of Tiger’s work with underserved youth, when the Junior World Golf Championships granted 18 permanent exemptions to the Foundation. “These exemptions create opportunities to enhance the growth of junior golfers through international competition.” Earl Woods said.
Tiger Woods Foundation is an educational foundation that offers other non-profit organizations grants for education and year round mentoring and tutoring programs. The Foundation is proud of the accomplishments of the Tiger Woods Foundation National Junior Golf Team and its achievements over the past decade. Since its inception, members of the TWFNJGT have gone on to receive partial or full college scholarships at institutions such as UCLA, Texas Southern University, Princeton, Notre Dame, Duke, Wake Forest and the University of Tulsa to name a few.
Due to the overwhelming amount of applicants, we have revised the eligibility requirements. Each junior golfer applying for a spot on the team must meet all the requirements and submit all the documentation in order to be considered. If anything is missing, your application is considered incomplete and will not be accepted. Once all the applications have been received, the committee will review applications and select the team members.
Tiger Woods Foundation receives a limited number of exemptions per age group, per gender, so not everyone can be selected for the team. However, you are encouraged to apply if you meet the requirements. Some applicants will be accepted to the team and some will be asked to qualify for Junior Worlds on their own. If you are one of those asked to qualify on your own and do so, you will be considered a team member just as if you were given the exemption.
